NOTICE THAT FOILAGE! I am not envious in the least about David and Kim's lot. Not at all. Not a smidgen. Nope. Not. ---> Yeah, Right!!!

Our Starting Point - "The blueprints".

Our starting point, the blueprints. I am posting the prints so that you can see the tweaks in the overall floorplan that we have made as well as have an orientation reference for the photos that we post. The lot backs up to a local forest preserve, so with all of the trees, the view is to die for! I like the foliage so much that I placed it in the windows in the cabinet renderings.

After looking over the prints with David and Kim, my initial suggestion was to add a "Costco Closet", or pantry to Mom, in the corner to the left of the cooking area. My second suggestion was to pull the peninsula back a foot or so into the kitchen area to allow for bar stool seating. In doing this, we also needed to add some space for folks to walk behind the stools. Since David and Kim had already spent a great deal of time planning this home with the architect there really was not a lot to modify within the overall footprint of the kitchen.Posted by Picasa
